Dockside privacy policy

This policy was updated on October 28, 2026. Dockside is published by Om Ray, who you can reach at [email protected] about privacy or your shop's data.

What the app reads

Dockside uses Shopify's read_products permission to read products and variants, including their titles, identifiers, SKUs, existing barcode values and prices. When you import a purchase-order CSV, the app reads its SKUs and quantities to find the matching products and prepare labels. It does not request customer or order access, change inventory, create purchase orders or write new barcodes to your products.

What the app stores

The app stores your shop identifier, saved label templates and the number of labels exported each UTC calendar month. Templates include the label stock, printed fields, font size, barcode format and printer alignment settings. Shopify sessions hold the access credentials needed to connect to your shop and may include the signed-in staff member's identifier, name, email, locale and account flags when Shopify supplies them.

The app also stores generated label PDFs, export identifiers and input hashes so retrying a download does not count the same export twice. Those PDFs contain the product information you chose to print. The app processes CSV text to build a batch but does not save the uploaded CSV as a separate file.

How the data is used

Dockside uses this data to match SKUs, render labels, remember your templates, enforce plan limits and authenticate requests. Shopify handles subscription approval and billing, and the app checks whether your shop has an active Pro subscription. The app does not collect payment card details or include advertising or analytics trackers in its application code.

App data is stored in a database on the server that runs Dockside. Requests pass through the app's hosting and network providers, and ordinary server logs may record request details and errors. Shopify processes the requests needed to provide product access, authentication and billing, and this policy page is served by the app itself.

Retention and deletion

You can delete saved templates in the app. Cached PDFs from earlier months are removed on the next successful export in a later month, so they can remain longer if you stop exporting. Uninstalling removes cached PDFs, saved templates, sessions and the shop's template-count record.

Monthly export counts remain after uninstalling so uninstalling alone does not reset the free monthly allowance. They include the shop identifier and month and have no automatic expiry. When Shopify sends shop/redact, the app deletes these counts along with all other records for the shop. Contact [email protected] to ask what information remains about your shop.

Shopify privacy requests

The app verifies Shopify's webhook signature before handling privacy requests. It accepts customers/data_request and customers/redact and returns a successful response without retrieving or deleting customer records, because it does not collect Shopify customer data. These customer webhooks do not refer to the staff information in Shopify login sessions.

For shop/redact, the app deletes the shop's templates, cached exports, sessions, template-count record and all monthly export counts. You can contact [email protected] to request access, correction or deletion of shop or staff information, and we may need to confirm that you are authorised to make that request.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, this page will describe the change and show a new update date. For questions about this policy or your data, email [email protected].
